Who We Are

Neuwrite London is a group of science writers and journalists who gather each month to discuss the craft of science writing, and to workshop each other's pieces for publication. We have a broad range of interests, spanning neuroscience, biology, maths, health science, engineering, archaeology, environmental science, and science art and illustration. Our aim is to create an encouraging environment where we collaboratively learn through each other's work, and share best practice for science communication.

As well as reported features, essays, and news articles, our members have brought book proposals and chapters to our workshops for critique. Past and upcoming books from our group have (and will) be published by Bloomsbury. Our journalistic writing has appeared in publications including The Guardian, Aeon, Nature, Wired UK, RegMedNet, BBC Science Focus, Sapiens, and Quanta. Please feel free to email us via our contact page if you would like to learn more, or if you're keen to join our group!

Guest Speakers and Seminars

Over Neuwrite London's existence, several established science writers have come to our meetings to speak to us about their work, and to share tips and advice about the profession. These have included Ed Yong, Angela Saini, Mark Miodownik, Michael Balter, and Daniel Glaser.

Our roster of guest speakers has now evolved into an online seminar scheme, where experts in the field of science journalism and science book writing will share their expertise with attendees. This seminar scheme is open to all, but we are especially keen to invite underrepresented groups to attend. If you're interested in learning more, please click through to our seminar page.
